Calash is an international management consultancy that combines over twenty-years of private and public market advisory services, with decades of operational experience in the energy, industrials, infrastructure and environment, cleantech, marine and defence industries.
Calash has earned its market leading position through direct experience of building businesses and creating value. Our founders began their careers in the energy industry as geophysicists and engineers, working for the likes of Shell and Schlumberger before carving their own paths and founding, growing and monetising their own technology and service businesses serving the oil and gas and environmental sectors.
In an office in Aberdeen in 2002, Calash was born because the capital markets did not fully understand the commercial and technical complexities of the energy market.
Through the early noughties, Calash became established as the pre-eminent strategy and due diligence advisory firm focused on the oilfield service and equipment sector, providing support to financial investors and large corporations navigating the ups and downs of international commodity markets.
As the energy sector began to change, so did Calash, attracting new expertise into its team with backgrounds in the renewables and environmental sectors and increasingly focusing on these markets and on broader industrial verticals, leveraging its understanding of complex processes and commercial environments to expertly advise on related sectors.
In 2010, Candour, the expert network provider was spinout of Calash to focus on providing bespoke market referencing and voice-of-the-customer exercises via its exclusive network of industry professionals.
Through 2008 to 2020, the company opened offices in London, Sydney, New York, and Houston as its client base became increasingly internationalised.
In 2024, Calash reorganised its corporate structure to provide greater value creation opportunities to its clients by connecting its four service lines – Research, Strategy, Diligence, and the Environment – under one umbrella.
Now, over 75% of Calash’s work faces into the clean energy, infrastructure and industrial markets as we continue to add value to our clients by deepening our knowledge of the sectors we serve.

Calash has engaged in projects on every continent, bar Antarctica, which is hardly surprising given over two decades of work in international energy and finance.
Today, we have offices across the UK (Aberdeen, London, Manchester), the European Union (Sofia) and Australia (Sydney), with local representatives in the US.
We are also proud of our heritage as an Aberdonian business and seek to give back to our home city through sponsorship of local events and businesses, and seeking to hire home-grown talent.
